As you may or may not know we are, very proudly, exclusive stockists of the furniture and design collection by Sarah Ellison, and we are beyond excited to announce the launch of her newest collection; ‘SOL’.
A homegrown talent, Sarah released her first range ‘New Wave’ in 2017, a collective of simple, well put together pieces that spoke of that contemporary Australian laid back lifestyle, with coastal notions and understated quality.
Next came 'Golden’, this time she gravitated to her taste for a luxey 70s inspired aesthetic, and gave us a nostalgic assemble that channels an endless summer feeling. With the injection of natural cane, chunky proportions and brass details.

Launching today is ‘SOL’, her newest collection of dining and lounge furniture, ceramics, objects and lighting. ‘“SOL’, a reference to the personification of the sun in Roman mythology, was inspired by Sarah’s desire to create pieces with a sense of warmth and permanence." A balance of grounded weighty proportions and playful fluid form, it is in line with her design handwriting and an evolution into a slightly more assertive style statement.
“Globally, the world feels fragile right now, the pieces within SOL have a grounding quality, monolithic even. Like the sun’s consistency in our lives, this collection is designed with permanence in mind. I want the owners of these products to feel a sense of calm, warmth and safety.”
Arch Dining Chair, Earth Dining Table.
“I wanted to create a dramatic narrative by combining exaggerated and sculptural forms in sensual and textural materials. They are bold statement pieces, a sum of parts, when placed together create a gallery-like collection that embodies my warm-minimalist aesthetic.”
She introduces new materials, notably oak timber dining tables and chairs with wide round legs and curved plains, alongside tactile fabrics finishes for the lounge furniture, and hints of limestone, glass, and stoneware.

You have Huggy, an occasional chair consisting of a deep block seat and curved tubular backrest, and the Muse modular lounge made up of rectangular elements with rounded corners and edges. Both a contemporary lean towards 1970s interiors.
The Royère Vase is an ode to Jean Royère ‘undulation’ motif, and this abstract approach to shape carries through into a new mix of objects and vases in high gloss and heavily textured finishes.
The thing we love most about Sarah’s approach to design is that unwavering signature style, that sews a thread throughout, and allows this new drop to slot into the existing collections as if it has always been there.
