We look back on our best colour moments and talk about why we believe colour is something to be embraced and not avoided.
On reflection, we discovered that all our colour choices from previous seasons are still more than relevant. Confirming our theory that the shade is irrelevant, it is how you use it that counts.
Our core collection is timeless, understated, and inspired by a Scandinavian design ethic, which encourages you to buy once and buy well. Combining solid oak timbers, high-quality upholstery fabrics in muted and considered hues, solid slabs of marble, textural terrazzo, metal, and black accents. Colour creates a backdrop for these pared-back pieces, forging rooms that are rich in style, originality, and warmth.

Most recently we partnered with our friends at Haymes Paint, to create a colour palette that represents our 2020 'Landscape' collection. We worked alongside their expert team, who are connoisseurs of all things colour, to pull together the shades that are set to be big for the upcoming seasons. They work hard to establish trending colours, and forecast for future seasons and their insight helps us to create a look that will be current and classic all at the same time.

Curated to compliment our newest pieces, and show you how to bring colour into your home. There is a pop of blue with Smokeytone, a moody coffee hue Cappucino, and proof that neutral doesn’t have to mean boring with Blushing Beige. We took inspiration from the Australian natural landscape and wanted to encapsulate the desert centre and cool blue water that is so nostalgically Aussie.

Our SS18 lookbook was bold and fresh, we coloured our walls with Porters Paints and created spaces that were calm, warm and stylish. Less earthy than our latest collection, but still with a nod to Australiana, we used their Ayers Rock shade to pack a punch in an otherwise laid back dining space and make maximalism work in a bedroom.
With a dash of Turneric adding depth to otherwise neutral rooms, often painting one feature wall in a colour you love will give a room that edge of originality and personality that is exclusive to you. Often it's easy to stick with a traditional white or cream blank canvas, but adding colour can give you a room that feels more considered.

Looking further back we used a cooler palette of white, navy and green, for living, dining, and home office spaces that were nice and zen to spend time in. The navy we used was Obsidian, and it is almost too perfect with the soft tan leather of our Carl sofa, and just as good against natural oak and grey weave fabrics from our core dining collections.

And the green was Eden, green is a colour that came into trend a couple of years ago and doesn't seem to going anywhere, furniture and homewares in every shade from sage to forrest can be found on the market at the moment and probably for the foreseeable future.
Overall that feeling of bringing the outside in seems to be carrying through across seasons, and looking to natural landscapes, flora and fauna is a good place to start when selecting colours for your home, that are easy on the eye.

Our main takeaway; we have no colour regret. These looks go back to 2016, and all of them still have us saying 'Ooo love that', which is enough to give us the confidence to say colour is never a bad decision. Every hue has it's place, and styled well will stay current.
Regardless, if you do have a change of heart it won't break the bank to grab a pot of paint and go over it, and all of a sudden you have a brand new room.
Happy decorating!
